GEAR'd Adelaide returns this year with a new event format and even more excitement than ever before. The three-day kinkstravaganza that celebrates all things leather and fetish will be held at The Wakefield Hotel from November 19th - 21st, hosting the renown Mr and Ms Adelaide Leather competitions, as well as a new Kinky Bingo social night and a BacKDoor Fetish Dinner.
GEAR'd draws both active kinksters and those curious about the leather and/or fetish lifestyles from all around Australia each year. The events that Adelaide Leather & Fetish curate as part of the GEAR'd weekend are designed to be warm and welcoming, interactive and exploratory - and perhaps, most importantly, safe spaces for those looking to express themselves in any which way that they choose.
This year's event format has been adjusted from the former years' formats in consideration of the on-going pandemic and to ensure safety for all event patrons.
Here's a breakdown of all the events on offer as part of this year's GEAR'd Adelaide weekend:
Kinky Bingo & Meet The Competition Contestants
WHEN: Thursday, November 19th, from 7.30PM
WHAT: The opening night of GEAR'd Adelaide 2020 is dedicated to introducing guests to the contestants taking part in the internationally recognised Mr & Ms Adelaide Leather competitions. This year, these introductions will be accompanied by an inclusive bingo game night, with guests having the chance to win prizes from the event sponsors, and also silent auctions spread throughout the night - from which all of the proceeds will head to Adelaide's Youth Drop-In Centre.
Mr & Ms Adelaide Leather Competitions
WHEN: Friday, November 20th, from 7.30PM
WHAT: The centrepiece of the GEAR'd Adelaide event weekend and one of the most anticipated annual kink competitions in Australia. The Mr & Ms Adelaide competitions are held to sash the most commendable individuals within the South Australian leather community and incorporate a variety of evaluations to assess who will go home winner. It's a community founded and community praised event that helps spread awareness not only for the wider leather and fetish communities, but also for varying community services that do their part in helping make such safe spaces possible. Join the crowd and cheer the contestants on as they're put through their paces in an electric atmosphere.
BacKDoor Fetish Dinner
WHEN: Saturday, November 21st, from 7PM
WHAT: A three-course drop dinner (including entree, main and dessert) accompanied by a cabaret of some of Adelaide's most tantalising kink and LGBTIQA+ performers. Dress up in your best leather and/or fetish attire and be entertained throughout the night as you watch performances and mingle with other guests. Drinks are not included not included in the ticket price for this event (see below), but can be purchased.
